Recently, we had the honor and privilege of welcoming back, Carlie Kilduff, Spoken Word Artist to the Empower Health Now BlogTalkRadio show for a Mother’s Day Special in a tribute to all mothers and those who find themselves in a mothering role.
Carlie has been featured in Island Woman Magazine and has given several Spoken Word shows throughout Victoria, BC. She has performed at the event: Creatively United for the Planet as well as Prayers for Nepal. Carlie is a writer, speaker, intuitive and visionary. On this show, she gifts us with her spoken words in honor of Mother’s Day.
About a month ago, Carlie and I got to talking about Mother’s Day coming up and Carlie mentioned that she has poetry about mothers and mothering. We decided to have a conversation about being a mother, mothering and the need for self care and nurturing.
Over the years I worked as an RN, and subsequent decades, I was very interested in observing the growth and development of women and how they implemented self care. I was privileged to be included in many different cultures where women came together socially and I witnessed them nurturing each other. In North America, I know it exists… though at times, it seems difficult to find.
In our conversation with Carlie Kilduff, I posed the following questions, which I feel is valuable for each of us, man or woman:
~ When did you realize the need for self care?
~ How do you define self care? Nurturing?
~ Where do you get your support from?
~ What Words of Wisdom do you have for mothers? and those who are in “mothering roles”?
Carlie blessed us with three of her poems… “Another Mother”, “Mother’s Arms”, and “I’d Be Rich”. Her content is rich and it is such a powerful experience to hear her deliver these words from her soul. I hope you enjoy them!
Carlie will be back with us soon, on the Empower Health Now BlogTalkRadio show for “Prayers for Nepal” and future shows, discussing the collective need for feminine balance, post-partum depression, and the demasculinization of men.
Enhance and enrich all areas of your life…empower your self and empower others!
