Last week, Alanda Carver (Siri Amir Kaur) and I met to talk over her mission and vision for the Sooke Yoga and Wellness Center. I listened with intrigue as I heard her describe her own journey into Kundalini Yoga and the creation of the Ahimsa Yoga Center, which transformed into the current Sooke Yoga and Wellness Center.
We found we both carried the vision of a wellness center where members of our communities from Sooke and up the West Coast Road to Port Renfrew, could come to experience a variety of modalities and practices to support healing and wellness. As well, we talked about the need for educational classes on the new era of science and healing.
Alanda has a depth of personal experience and a strong appreciation for that moment that brings a change in a person’s wellness, opening up the door to healing and transformation.
I’ll be supporting Alanda’s mission and vision by offering Reconnective Healing™, the 111® and 222® Activations, as well as essential oil protocols, focusing on teaching balancing and supporting the body systems with essential oils and self-care of the nervous system and immune system. So many people are experiencing stress which effects our emotions which directly effects our cellular health and well-being. My classes offer more, as I bring the decades of experience having worked in ICU/Open Heart and NICU and give personal attention to those in attendance, as well as clients.
Another event I am working on is a Meet and Greet for local “energy workers”, “complimentary” or “alternative” practitioners. I very strongly feel that the best way to serve our community is to support each other in our practices, to experience the variety of modalities so that we can honestly speak of them, along with being able to recommend a practitioner when someone asks, “do you know of anyone who….”.
The paradigm shift is here, and Sooke is bringing about the return to wholeness, the holistic body, mind and spirit approach to individual wellness, as well as community wellness. Sooke has it’s own healing energy. It’s palpable. It’s often said that Sooke is a place where the stars and the sea come together. It is filled with ancient wisdom from our First Nations peoples.
Sooke Yoga and Wellness has a newsletter of the Sooke Therapeutic Yoga Society, a class schedule and a variety of practitioners whose services one can book for supporting health and wellness.
